To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Statement on European Union Justice and Home Affairs Council by Lord McNally on 9 December (

), whether they will maintain their position that the United Kingdom, and not the European Union, should negotiate with the Government of the United States on the protection of personal data transferred for law enforcement purposes.
