ATOC say rail prices to increase by 6% + Why do our MPs allow Swindon to be the most expensive place to travel from in this country?
To qualify for inclusion there is only one rule - something described must have been said to have happened. `If the facts don`t fit the legend, print

Ask them. They're always chunttering on about their shared office,(Milton Road I think) for Swindonians to contact them. In fact they were both on BBC Radio Swindon talking to Graham Mack yesterday morning.

Apparently Justin always travels by rail 2nd class.  I wonder does he have to stand all the way as I have done. ::)

Yes I noted this in the letter thread that is on TS however I believe that standard class is all he can claim for? I did not hear it so was he just stating a fact that he can only claim standard class as allowed by "the rules" ?

http://www.ipsa-home.org.uk/Expenses_Public_transport%20v2.html  below is an excerpt.

7.7 MPs may claim reimbursement for costs incurred in relation to allowable journeys by rail. Such reimbursement will be limited to the rate of an "anytime standard open" ticket for the same journey prevalent at the time of the claim.

Having read the ipsa 'rules' I believe it is true to say that Justin Tomlinson is actually claiming the maximum allowable amount for his rail tickets.
