The Libdem Coalition Government have announced that public servants can take over their services and run them "John Lewis Style" this comes less than a year since SCS was "decoupled" coincidence? Will this apply to SCS and how will impact on planning transport and highways that rely heavily on consultants?

Emptying bins, running tip sites building and running a garbage eater at the site, cutting grass, litter picking, street sweeping, keeping the town centre spick and span etc what will be its future now?

Libraries, schools and social services will either of those services  become management buyout businesses?
To qualify for inclusion there is only one rule - something described must have been said to have happened. `If the facts don`t fit the legend, print

I think the hope is that this is where the voluntary sector takes up the slack.

Or a bit of both. Staff 'buy it out', volunteers run it, the council sort of keeps an eye on things and somehow the service is twice as good as before at half the price. Just like magic, but slightly less believable.

Can't see volunteers turning up to make someone else a profit, unless you mean they become Charitable Ltd Companies which are still not  businesses.   Not in the Rikki Hunt sense of the word.

Why would staff buy out something that we paid for in the first place?

Exactly. These people have no sense of what motivates volunteers, paid staff or members of the community.
