People will not accept cuts on the front line.

If what you are saying Richard is that we need 168 people on more that £50k to run Swindon properly - then the cut will have to come from the front line.

Personally I think all we need is a new Leader of the Council.

I agree with you on acceptance of cuts from the front line.

No people earning over £50k can handle a pay reduction percentage wise better than those just above the minimum wage.  This administration has been promising efficiency savings ever since they came to power.  The time to achieve them was in times of good employment not when we are are in a recession and don't have a choice.  Are there still 18 levels of management in SCS?

So maybe the answer does lie in a change at the top?  I am sure forum members will have an opinion on that one!  Remember responsibility for an organisation does not come from the bottom, but they always take the consequences first.

Directors? They could not even direct traffic.
Imagine Greenhaigh on a school crossing. The kids would be more frightened of him than the speeding traffic.

Umm well okay ............ a little brissley birdy mentioned that one thinks a certain area beginning with a 'P' is full of peasants and it should be bull dozed allegedly ! .......and that he knows its full of peasants because of the demographics allegedly ! and that though hast never set foot in the place 'P' or intends to do so !  Also I have heard on the grapevine , that where there is a 'brissley' the PG is not far behind ! Almost as one in the same allegedly !

Someone I know who is a regular commenter on the Swindon Advertiser website, reckons some nights its like being amongst the borg !
you know ......... 7 of 9 when they really are as one - and its a case of 'you will comply or else'.

Poor old PG. I must admit, certain pseudonyms often seem to take on a very obvious 'Greenhaulgh' tone.

He was once such a popular politician - what's happened?? I suspect that the slide started at the point he stopped engaging publicly and began playing the Bluhtocrasy game  :-\

I feel I need to comment.
PG is a grown man who is responsible for his own actions which include verbal, non-verbal, physical and gestural etc. as we all are.

You get a lot further in life if you embrace people, engage with people and respect people for who they are as individuals.

My nan used to say 'Manners Maketh Man' .

I like politicians and people who are polite, who listen, who are honest and who take the time to explain things even if they are not what you might want to hear.

Its not what you say, its being honest and how you say it.
