If, whilst all those around you are.............
« on: May 11, 2010, 09:40:38 am »
Bubbling about in the office is that Cllr Mike Bawden may have a position....... formally occupied by a man with a stick..... Peptic Wag prediction?

PS Bobby Bingo is quiet after his puffing up of the Rod challenger and his mate Craggy Perkins so much for alliances in the Tories eh Bob?

Rod has not announced his cabinet yet. Perkins will need replacing in Education for starters.
So I was wrong but Martin is so resillient he will come back but Rod may take him into his fold where he can watch what he is up to.
Regarding Bawden what job would you give him.
He is happy with his current one even to having a flat in Taunton, a town where all the meetings take place and Somerset play cricket.

Are you saying cllr Nick Martin has been bought off taken into the fold? It would make the Con-Lib deal appear honourable? Cllr Rod Bluh and a suppine cllr Martin, yes I actually like that Bobby, it has a certain  ring to it, don't you think?

Cllr Bluh undermined by his oppo in cabinet; now that will give TS much grist to add to the  mill.

Cheers Bobby for the hat tip  :o

Bawden, a Conservative, as Chair of Scrutiny? - Bluh may not be the sharpest tool in the box but would even he be that stupid?  ;D

We'll have to wait until the cabinet jobs are announced before judging whether Nick Martins challenge was bought-off, or he's been simply frozen out by a frightened herd.  If he was bought off his 'position' will have improved.  If frozen out he'll be exactly the same or worse off......and possibly facing de-selection.

I don't agree with Ringer that the Perkinator-as-Deputy-leader was part of Nick Martins plan, I think it's more likely that he, [Martin], has been thoroughly kippered by everyone he's been recently helping to get elected & re-elected.  Harsh, but such is life in the Tory party.

Looking forward to seeing who's been given which Cabinet and committee jobs, especially those with stipends attached to them, before taking a view on whether Swindon is infected with a hyper-localised version of pork-barrel politics.

LibDems to get Scrutiny or Bawden what is the difference?
None now that the Two Tory Parties have got Wed. The Bucklinson are probably spitting feathers along with Claire Perry from Devizes who was chosen by the Devizes Tories to attain High Office. James Gray must be chuffed as his Chippenham mate is now in his bed and will not ally with the Libdems in his constituency to get him, or will they as Cheetahs never change their spots?

Rodt Bluh for the Lords is it? Maybe it looks like it is the only way that Bucklinson may be able to prise him out of the leadership. If Geoff is correct then perhaps that is the only way the Bucklinson will save the skin of a West Swindon godfather?

Cllr Nick Martin bought off? Pork Barrel Politics your assertion implies Swindon is like a Hick Town I live in hope that it is wrong?
