Todays Forum 'Outage' : Please Read
« on: June 03, 2006, 04:30:33 pm »

Late last night Talkswindon suffered an 'unusual' event which caused a complete inability to post on, or log out of the forum.

Much head scratching and swearing occured..... but no clear fault could be found with either the forum or the database.

More swearing....and another call to our hosts 24/7/365 support centre.

Again, no fault could be found....they were as puzzled as us.

Then, as if by magic, a message arrives from the software suppliers:

Quote
A security issue has been identified in SMF 1.1 RC2

Installed the patch....and we're up and going again  O0

Coincidence ?

Who knows ?

So, in conclusion, we're sorry for the interruption in service, but would like to thank our hosts for their support and smf for their timely delivery of the 'fix'.
